Background: Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is characterized by abnormal regulation of PTH secretion by calcium. The most common clinical presentation of PHPT is asymptomatic (80% cases), followed less likely by the classical symptoms of bones, stones, abdominal moans, and psychic groans.
